It's one of the hardest concepts to grasp. Risk. There are way to many emotions associated with it depending on that other 4 letter word... your PAST.
Human nature is satiated by repetition. By the familiar... a routine. So when anything alters that or requires someone to go outside their comfort zone, it's a risk. But how can you ever get what you want without taking one?
Applying to buy a home is a risk. I took it back when I should have been laughed at and one year later owned a home.
Looking for another job is a risk. Are you good enough for the jobs you are applying for? 3 years into applying for jobs working at one I LOATHED, I finally got one I deserved. I knew I couldn't have gotten it on my own but would knock out of the park. 1 year into it I am truly happy.
Relationships are probably our biggest risk. Giving emotions is so much harder than giving time, money, or knowledge (like I'm droppin on you right now). It's very simply just. not. the. same.
Every time we give ourselves and it doesn't work out to our expectations, a few more bricks go up on the wall of "you can't have my emotions" corner. I'm not going to get on a soap box about this... all I am saying is unless you take the risk, you'll never know that you CAN buy that home. You ARE good enough for that job, and you DO deserve that person. Stop stacking unnecessary bricks. Pretty soon you won't be able to see over the top.
Listen, the guys on Millionaire Match Maker aren't so successful because they live at home with their mommy's eating bon bons. ;) They took risks.
So the next time someone says to you, "You've got to risk something in life...." Just dive in. Whats the worst that can happen? You'll be where you are right now?
This blog is a collection of my thoughts. Keep on reading and I promise you will come across things that you wish you could say, things to make you feel less crazy and maybe a few thoughts to remind you why it's all worth it. After all, I'm just throwing it out there...

Men are from Mars... Women are just on their Periods.
Ok. Let's be honest... Men are certainly from Mars. Bottom line is that they could not survive without us. Our brains are quicker, we are sharper....basically we are 24 hour project managers. We manage the house, the kids, the cleaning, the cooking, the grocery shopping... (yes there are excpetions. my bestie's husband is amazing on all of the above) but let's just talk in general. It's a good match... men and women. A frustrating one... but God knew Men needed us. Men-0 Women-1
I can also tell you that women are NOT from Venus... whatever the hell that means. We are just on our periods. Men roll their eyes.... and I ask them... HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ON YOUR PERIOD?! I've heard that we use this as an excuse. No, you guys use the fact that you "don't know how to do something" as an excuse. We are just honest... don't mess with us the week before... or the first few days of. It's law.
That being said, we certainly aren't proud of the fact that we overreact to the milk being gone, or the dish in the sink, or the fact that we think you don't love us because you didn't call at 5:01 but at 5:15. Or maybe even nothing at all. It sets us off, makes us cry, or makes us shamefully angry. It's ridiculous. It's infuriating. And I can't imagine what it's like to live with a woman and have her be like this for basically 2 weeks out of every month. Men-1 Women-1
But just think about it for a second: if it drives you crazy to live with us and put up with this... imagine BEING US, and going THROUGH THIS every month. It's exausting. It's crippling, and it's enough to make us want to jump off the roof.
So now that we are even, just take this one piece of advice... tread lightly during these times. Pay more attention to helping around the house during P days, being more understanding when we overreact because there aren't anymore cups and the diswashers full, or at work when we ask for something and we don't get a definitive answer and bite your head off, or jump on your ass like a spider monkey because of that wet towel on the floor. Give and take. Just remember.... we feel bad and will always make up for it. I promise I speak for all crazed ladies out there.
Just throwin' it out there.

Just start....
A word of advice I got today was "just start..." I asked a friend what they thought of me starting a blog. simple answer, complicated action. However, is it? Is it really that complex to just do what you want? My God! It seems we question everything these days... we say we don't care what others think but that is a boldface lie. I haven't even made this blog public yet and it's my 3rd entry. I told my friends to "keep it on the down low". Not because I don't really want everyone in the world to read, but because I don't want to hear negative things, or think that others are talking about me behind my back wondering why I would write such a thing, "why does she swear so much? she's not a lady". Why would she want to write? There's no way she can.... I've never seen her. She must have a lot of time on her hands... I'm exausted just thinking about it. What they don't know is I've really wanted to write a book. A blog is just easier and since I'm lazy... well....Then I remember... Just Start.
You want to work out more? Just start
(don't worry about the guito juice packers in the gym and how they will look at you)
You want to dump your boyfriend? Just start
(start the process of getting yourself mentally ready because you don't need his sorry ass anyway. See blog#1)
You want a new job? Just start
(start looking and stop being lazy and complaining about your job. you are lucky you have one quite honestly. See blog#2)
You want to relocate? Just start
(looking for a place, temporary or permanent, a job, and your balls, because you are going to be so much happier when you do it)
I like that. Just start. I did... and now I can't stop. Funny how you can't get enough when you do something you love and feel good about. Thanks TC.

Rolling invisible inner eyes....
You know what's annoying?? Amoung 14 million other things, people who are ungrateful....people who don't appreciate what they have.
You know, I get it....I bitch constantly. Sometimes, with my girlfriends, I say the most horrific things that I swear I would lie and deny if asked did I say it. I mean damn, I'm only human.
But don't you people walk down the street? Drive by an innersection where that same guy you saw three times last week is beggin for money or work, AGAIN? and you can't look him in the eye because you know you have a few dollars but you are quite frankly just scared to roll down your window so you tell yourself they'll buy liquor or crack with the money, and you know crack is wack! So you go on about your day and bitch about your BMW having a leak in the tire (I just did this yesterday... )
So shall we have a come to Jesus meeting please? As hard as it is, remember where you came from, what you have now, and how hard you've worked to get it. Whether it be your pride, your amazing career, your husband, or your ability to be an amazing father. IT CAN ALWAYS BE WORSE.

Take your 5 mins to have a pity party in your head about whatever it is you want to feel sorry for yourself about, take a bath, go for a run, phone a friend and move the fuck on. If you aren't talking to the same person you would call if something REALLY bad happened, they don't care and are rolling their invisible inner eyes at your ass.
It's November people, be thankful for something everyday that will help you hit your reset buttons.
(note: funny how most of this blog was meant for me.) :P
30 something and dating...
Why not? It's a lot more popular these days then it used to be. Many more are marrying later, waiting for "the one", and some have just simply been jaded by their past. They've turned committment phobes, haters of love...or maybe they think they will be good looking forever. I'm the first to tell you that ain't gonna happen. Stuff starts to fall, lines start appearing, your vacations start showing through sun spots...all the sudden you realize you're not in Kansas anymore and Scarlett O'Hara has left the building. Clark Gable isn't waiting at your door heffer.
But don't get it twisted....all of your married friends have flickers of jealousy while others simply wish they were you. If you haven't learned that the grass is always greener by the time you are 30 something, you may have a problem.
You get used to "doing your own thing" while people say, it'll happen when you least expect it....and look at you with solomn eyes. The problem, or lack there of, is that one day you realize how enjoyable it is to be alone. How much you gain excitement from eating a bowl of cereal for dinner, or a side of steam in a bag veggies, and not have to worry about anyone else bitching. Going to bed when you want, sleeping through the night because no one is snoring....working out all the time, because, why not? Better then another bottle of wine on the couch, and you look damn good afterwards. Not to mention Number 2's, burping, farting... and watching all of the garbage/smutt TV you damn well feel like it.
What I know for sure is that the grass is always greener and it's easier to be single then it is to be in a relationship. So if you are in one, and happy that is...cherish it! Spend time on it, and sacrifice. If you aren't, DO WHAT THE FUCK YOU WANT TO DO! When you want to do it. All the time. Laugh as much as possible, spend time with your friends.... go out and have that drink when you are invited even though you don't feel like it, and travel as much as possible! Kids are expensive, and even though a double income is better than one, you also have two people to pay for.
So if you are 30 something and dating, don't bitch about it. If you do, just click here. Don't wander around with a pouty face and wish you were someone else, because honey, others wish they were you too.
I'm just throwing it out there..... if you halfway agree, this is an amazing viewpoint from a guys perspective. And I kindof wish I had his number....
